Last Sunday, July 23 was our 3rd annual Halo Halo Headshots, a program created by Walter Talens to bring affordable “Headshots” for actors starting out in the entertainment industry and bringing talented photographers from different fields of photography to share their skills. The program hopes to lower the barrier and encourage Filipino-Americans (or any person of color) to get their foot in the door of the industry and bring diversity to mainstream American film and television. It was the Saturday of the 2017 San Diego Comic Con where most of our members stood in line just to enter Hall H, cosplayed as their favorite sci-fi or superhero characters and generally satisfied their thirsts of nerd fandom from every possible film, television show, graphic novel and online gaming of all genres! On Wednesday, September 14, FilAm Creative’s original content channel, Bidyo, held a premiere party for its inaugural web series, Filipino American Hall of Fame at Far Bar in Little Tokyo in Downtown Los Angeles.
