Last Monday, November 14, 2022, FilAm Creative (FAC) returned this year, and this time as a Silver Partner with Asian World Film Festival (November 9-18) to celebrate Philippines Film Day again on November 12 (Myx) & 14 (FAC).

New FAC Executive Director Mark J. LaBella and former FAC Executive Director Charles Gray (currently Producer/ Writer/ Director and Director of Content at Character Media) joined together to create and curate the Filipino American programming throughout the entire weekend. Great to see our creative community come together and support each other.

FilAm Creative (FAC) is a Los Angeles-based non-profit community organization dedicated to the advancement and empowerment of Filipinos and Filipino Americans in the media and entertainment industry.
The Asian World Film Festival (AWFF) brings the best of a broad selection of Asian World cinema to Los Angeles in order to draw greater recognition to the region’s wealth of filmmakers, strengthening ties between the Asian and Hollywood film industries.
Celebrating Filipino-American talent, we presented the community’s best shorts on the Big Screen at the AMC Marina Marketplace 6 in Marina Del Rey, California on a Monday afternoon.

“It was great to get out and support my fellow filmmakers, see old friends and meet new ones [yesterday] at the Asian World Film Festival in Marina Del Rey.” said Latin Grammy winning singer/songwriter Dale Edward Chung.
A full house of attendees watched all eleven selected short films which ranged from various genres: animation, drama, sci-fi/action, historical, comedy and more. Afterwards, FAC’s Mark J. LaBella and CEO of Social Dragon PR and one of the film festival’s judges MJ Racadio announced the winners of the FilAm Creative Shorts Awards.
