The Chicago-born, Los Angeles-raised Edwin A. Santos is both an award winning film producer and a nominated supporting actor. His new feature length film, SAMURAI COP 2: DEADLY VENGEANCE is currently playing globally at select theaters while released on Blu-ray, DVD, VOD and digital streaming.

In 2001, after three years as a full-time actor, Edwin jumped on the other side of the camera.  Since then, he has produced five independent feature length films, two short films, one documentary short (about the aftermath of the Northridge Earthquake), a number of behind-the-scenes DVD featurettes and original web content.  He also had done work for E! Entertainment, NBCUniversal Cable, Comcast Entertainment Group and Crest Digital.

He is best known for his producing work in MAD COWGIRL (Best Narrative Feature Film, Silver Lake Film Festival 2006) and SOAP GIRL (Audience Award for Best Feature Film in the Asian American category, Big Bear Lake International Film Festival 2002).  He also created, wrote and produced the episodic web series, NO REGRETS (2014) and the sketch video A GETTING LAID GETAWAY (2015) for Funny Or Die.

Edwin also finds time to give back to the community by providing an outlet for actors to avoid the pitfalls of the entertainment industry while shining a spotlight on Filipino American talent. He joined FilAm Creative (FAC) in 2011.  In 2015, he became an active member when he joined FAC’s Leadership Team providing video coverage, creating video promos, conducting video interviews and blog articles for various FAC-related events such as the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival (as Community Co-Sponsor) and recently the Good Karma Networking Mixer at the Los Angeles Food Bank (https://filamcreative.wordpress.com/2016/02/08/what-happened-at-filam-creatives-good-karma-networking-mixer/). Moreover, he appeared, shot and edited three promotional videos inviting content producers the opportunity to collaborate and create original programming for FAC’s Bidyo and FAC Channel networks (https://filamcreative.wordpress.com/2015/06/28/filam-creative-launching-2-online-video-channels/).

But, what is close to his heart is his pet project which he wanted to do for a long time.  The Hollywood Actors Panel Edwin created and produced for FilAm talent to meet and network with special industry guest panelists who represent the craft of acting across the board.

With a Bachelor-In-Arts Degree in Radio, Television & Film from California-State University, Northridge along with his continuing passion for the creative and visual arts, Edwin is also an honorary recipient of the 1993 Catherine Clymer Scholarship Award from the Alliance for Women in Media, an honorary recipient of the 1993 Educational Equity Award for Outstanding Service presented by the School of Cinema & Television Arts of California-State University, Northridge and he is on the Honor Roll of Giving (2007-2009) for the Mike Curb College of Arts, Media and Communication of California-State University, Northridge.

Edwin has trained with Weist-Barron-Hill and Upright Citizens Brigade.

Let’s all take the time to welcome Edwin Santos and show your support.
