Melissa Arce’s passion for marketing, public relations and events became evident during her last year at UC Irvine while completing a year-long marketing and communications internship with a non-profit, community foundation. Up until then, she thought she was going to be a teacher after earning her B.A. in English with a minor in Educational Studies. For nearly four years, she worked as a Marketing/Process Manager for a leading private equity firm, but her love for the entertainment and media industries, as well as the Filipino community, inspired her pursuit for higher education and new opportunities.
Melissa received her M.A. in Communications from Cal State Fullerton in May 2012. She believes the highlight of her graduate program was producing her final project with FilAm Creative called “Creating Visibility, Establishing Individuality”—a panel discussion featuring Filipino professionals in entertainment and media. Melissa finds herself volunteering at several entertainment-related events, such as award shows and film festivals, and remains involved in her community.
Melissa is FAC’s CIO/chief information officer. She collects and keeps data from the other departments to keep track of our progress and performance, calendars all duties and events, takes notes and creates agenda and keeps board meetings on task and running smoothly. She keeps track of FAC’S numbers and analytics so we can measure our performance.
